I went to this industrial IoT conference in 2018 and after several days of hype at one panel somebody asked "Are any of you actually seeing revenue increases at your companies from implementing IIoT?"

The company I was with at the time was looking to make a bid to blanket the city of Calgary in a LoRaWAN but they got bought out before the project could proceed

I was in a unit that was looking specifically at agriculture. I investigated putting LoRa in cattle ear tags. Battery was an issue, and the fact that it gets down to like -40° here
