TBH, I don't think they have to. When I was in the office I had barely seen an iphone in person in a decade. Someone had one once, and I had no idea what it was.

I know two google PMs and they both use iPhone
Need PMs using and evangelizing the product. 'Cuz their vision of what the product should be, helps aim R&D.
