I'll always enjoy the fact that Linus Torvalds created Linux because he wanted a desktop OS that he liked and it has become the default computing platform for literally everything except desktop

It's not a marketing failure. My Ubuntu box has had more crashes in 6 months than my old Mac in 8 years. Compared to macOS and modern Windows, it's an unmitigated disaster. The availability and usability of apps is pathetic. It's advantage is free and some people can make it work
