I think we gave women over to capitalists in the form of labor and that was a mistake. Women should be allowed to work if they want (and many are brilliant at it) but the mass mobilization and expectation was probably a tragedy. Most don't seem to be enjoying it.

I sort of get this point wrt child rearing, but once all the kids are in school I think having a class of people just sitting around doing nothing isn't great either

One problem with the way we've structured society is that there's just no good way to have a career as a woman and also do the whole kids thing. Like there's no accepted path to take a 5 year break or whatever.
