I think we gave women over to capitalists in the form of labor and that was a mistake. Women should be allowed to work if they want (and many are brilliant at it) but the mass mobilization and expectation was probably a tragedy. Most don't seem to be enjoying it.

I sort of get this point wrt child rearing, but once all the kids are in school I think having a class of people just sitting around doing nothing isn't great either

There used to be a world, a private world non commercial created by women. That world has shrunk to a tiny sliver and everything is becoming commercial now. When everyone works, then all our interactions will somehow be commercial. That's how it works.

They gave themselves over. And I agree these movements didn't spring up out of nowhere. Still sucks to see so many miserable women and their men who can't support them on one salary.
