Buy an M1 Macbook Air. It's like the end of history computer.

you would recommend it over the MBP even if you want to do coding and some photo-video editing?

I have tested by running builds on an android and ios app at the same time and it does it with moderate sluggishness. Usually have simulators for both running. Definitely good enough for me.
I don't really edit video but it runs photoshop fine.
