Our big tech companies stopped doing interesting things because they stopped taking big bets on product concepts. They don’t seem willing to deal with the fact that PMF evolves. They think, grab a concept and focus on squeezing it. They’re just like old companies. Bad management.

Being a monopoly doesn’t hurt either

Idc. People can do good research and make good products as a monopoly. Look up bell labs.
I mean to shame the people working in product who respond to a lack of pressure with “cool guess I’ll just do nothing.”
These people do immense damage to humanity.

You should be trying to shame as many people as possible at all times.
Probably the worse the organization structure, the more likely it will spend extravagantly on fundamental, society advancing research, it can’t utilize because the organization is too risk adverse.

There’s actually a U shaped distribution between industry competition and research. I saw a paper presented on the topic one time.
But this is about people making decisions about product, not some fait acompli bullshit.

Yeah and monopolies make the dumbest decisions because there is practically no downside.
