Google have had a crack team of engineers trying to bring the M1 down to Intel levels of performance since the M1 was announced

this is why I switched to brave a year ago and deleted all the stored chrome files on my mac, when I was on an intel pro. I now own a 16” m1 max that I don’t need hehe

I use a couple extensions on Chrome for my m1 mbp: marvellous suspender that frees a tab not visited in x minutes (shows a simple placeholder page with url) and tab manager plus that doesn’t let me open the Nth tab (this one is more a behavioural benefit). They do help.

I have a Macbook Pro M1 and it hiccups quite a bit with Chrome when running on an external 4k monitor

Somebody else mentioned they had some chrome issues. I used brave and regularly have it running on two different external monitors with no weirdness
