I usually go to the UPS store near my house and give it to them and they say something insane like "that'll be $900" and I pay it because who am I to know what things cost?

it's $900 cuz you're not just paying for the letter, you have to pay for the messenger pigeons, the food for the pigeons, etc. it's a whole supply chain thing
