I am not worried about AGI going full skynet on us.
I am worried about quite good AI models rendering whole professions obsolete in the span of just a few years, and the economic and social upheaval that will come with that.

Depends on the speed it will happen. If it gives time to educational institutions to teach the new relevant skills instead, there could be an organised LT transition.
Though I can hardly find relevant degrees these days even CS at uni doesn’t teach modern technologies much..

Yeah I'm not holding out a ton of hope for universities to be the ones nimbly jumping in to bridge a gap
And also the full impact of AI models has to be seen to be known I think, trying to call it ahead of time is just going to mean picking winners and leaving a ton of losers
