I'm getting a feeling the "javelin cage" is just for moral purposes "Sir they have modern western weapons" General - "Don't worry we've thought of an idea they didn't think off developing the weapons. See them cage things we'll stick them on that'll defeat the missiles"

the cage works.... if the missile comes from the direction its protecting, what you may notice in most of the javelin cage tanks that have been destroyed are the turrets/top of the vehicle are intact but the chassis/tracks are blown out meaning the missile missed the cage.

The cage doesn’t work, look closely at it in the picture. The turret is intact because it is harder to make it fail structurally by the ammo detonation, meanwhile the Turret ring and the hull are more likely to fail due to that, usually blowing the turret off cleanly.

The impact was clearly from the left side. Turret is intact because cage worked. This tank was probably sot at from more then one direction and no amount of protection will help. If the cage didn't help the turret would look a lot differently
