Cheeleaders (of all ages) uncritically repeat propaganda talking points to counter any anti-war statements. Today one former diplomat accused me of state treason for pointing out that it's actually a war, not a surgical operation (as promised a week ago) and a tragic mistake

Freedoms in Russia are being curtailed. Street protests are barely legal and guarantee punishment, there are several new initiatives to make it more severe. Several media have been banned, those that remain are not allowed to call a war a war

The Internet is not the same. Gov't websites are often not available because of DDoS attacks. Twitter and Facebook are 'slowed down' by the state, soon YouTube might follow. VPNs are not very efficient And don't even get me started about the economy

I know this is nothing compared to what civilians in war-affected cities in Ukraine go through who have to hide in shelters, might not have food, water or access to basic services But nonetheless psychologically it's pretty miserable Anyways I just wanted to share these thoghts
