among many reasons: it doesn't make any political sense for russia to try and take kiev, putin has made it pretty clear that he's open to diplomacy, american military-industrial complex has a lot to gain with conflict in region after afghanistan withdrawl

yeah it's a bit odd. my guess is that either they end up giving support to donbas or this is a ploy for some sort of finlandization of ukraine/some sort of promise for them to not join nato but who knows

Sure a variety of far fetched things have happened in the last ten years and that’s a lot of hardware on the border. Just shrugging and saying he’s bluffing as a guy on twitter who can’t explain it isn’t convincing
