Maybe it’s just because it’s fun to talk to a foreigner but it seems like people in the UK are better socialized than Americans. Casual conversations come much easier.

Where in the UK are you? If you’re in London I’d say no one is socialised, when I travelled alone I had to unlearn everything I’d picked up as a Londoner who’d never spoken to a stranger before
