The US can easly enter Russia from the "backdoor". The theatre is not limited to Ukraine only. Russia is the underdog here.

But can't we fly through the back door? Land is obviously impossible but we're still at Russia's back as the world's largest air power

And they still have nukes and a plausibly credible first and second strike capability.
