I will happily bet against this. If you make it easy, and accessible, people are more than willing to run their own infrastructure. There are plenty of challenges left to solve, but it is very much a challenge worth solving.

I don’t think the average person cares about this at all. I do think it could be possible to build a better product on a decentralized architecture but that won’t be the selling point for normies

my mom really wants to run her own server, with an eth node running on it, while exclusively using decentralized protocols. she finds it more intuitive than her macbook and cloud apps.
