Q: How did you hone your craft? I began drawing at a very young age. My parents were very supportive of my passion. In high school I drew a lot of comics and digital illustrations. Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles where I really started improving as an artist.

Q: How did you find your way to games? Throughout college I studied and practiced to be a concept artist, but during my senior year discovered that I really enjoy 3D, and I started refocusing on that. Out of school I got a job as a 2D background artist at Reverge Studios.

Q: What does your average day on a project look like? Once everyone has arrived, we summarize yesterday's work, and plan ahead. Then I get to work! On some days we have Art Review, which is basically a show-and-tell critique session of the art we’ve produced over the past week.

Q: What are some tools & tricks that make your work easier? Not exactly tools, but having other people to bounce ideas off of is very helpful! Also being in a conducive work environment with a strong team that values open communication makes work 100x easier.

Q: Balance is key. What important influences outside of games inspire and drive your work? I love learning about the world. Documentaries are not only fascinating but also really inspiring resources. Additionally, I take a lot of inspiration from D&D sessions with friends.

Q: What makes good 3D art technique? Animation-friendly topology, effective texture space utilization, and strategic UV seams come to mind. It’s also super helpful to keep your work files, objects, layers, etc. named and effectively organized.

Q: What advice would you give to aspiring artists? Study your fundamentals. Anatomy, light and color, perspective: these make the foundation of your art, and without a solid foundation your art will look weak. Also, make friends in the industry and keep in touch with them!

Q: What are some of your favourite gaming memories? Most inspiring games? Logging into WoW for my very first time is easily one of my favorite gaming memories. It was such a magical and breathtaking experience that I will never forget and likely never experience again.

Q: What is one change you'd like to see in the industry to better empower & amplify women's voices? A more equal ratio of men to women in the workplace, as well as more women in higher positions. I’d also like to see more female and minority representation in games themselves!
