Anyone trying out the Gmail auto-suggest option? I like it in theory but find it distracting in practice and kinda derails my flow when I'm trying to get a thought out. It's like someone constantly trying to finish your sandwiches.

Yes. It's the girl/boy who is trying TOO hard to be compatible with you on a first date. "We know each other so well. I can tell we've got a special connection." Like, chill. We haven't even had appetizers yet.

turned it off pretty quickly. I use auto-suggest/correct on mobile generally because the keyboard sucks, but I know how to type and do most of my emailing from a desktop or laptop. Losing more speed from being distracted by the suggestions than I'd gain, I think.

I had the same experience; I was writing a sentence and was detailed in my thought because Google "guessed" what I wanted to say, but that wasn't it at all, and I had to rethink my idea. Just stahhp!
