By getting rid of things we don't use, don't need, or don't love, as well as things that don't work, don't fit, or don't suit, we free our minds (and our shelves) for what we truly value. Make more room for happiness w/ my new book

  3. If you want to help someone else to change an important habit (and I've certainly tried to do this myself, many times, in my loving habits-bully way), here are a few top strategies to try:

  4. Understanding the Four Tendencies can be extremely valuable in the workplace. It can can help deal with burn-out, procrastination, insubordination, and more. So I loved this episode of the Driven podcast, about using the framework at work.

  5. In this episode, I read a letter that Anne Sullivan wrote about the life-changing moment when Helen Keller realized that w-a-t-e-r meant "water". What an extraordinary example of how a teacher can transform a person’s entire life.

  6. When people reminisce, they focus on positive memories, with the result that recalling the past amplifies the positive and minimizes the negative.

  7. I’ve always loved shows of magic and illusion, but now that I’m studying the body and the senses I appreciate them even more. I was very excited to see this show.

  11. Today is a rare example of a palindrome date! 02/02/2020 is the same going backward or forward. The last time? 909 years ago, on 11/11/1111. And none of us will live to see the next one: 12/12/2121.

  16. I’m so fascinated by the body and the senses. One fascinating example of how sight dominates our senses is the “McGurk effect.” It works even when you know it’s happening! Our brain can’t ignore what it sees to hear what it hears.

  17. My latest book offers tips and strategies for tackling clutter. One simple concept from the book that really resonates with people is: It’s easier to keep up than to catch up; with the right habits, clutter never accumulates.
