Rumor on the street is if you make a YouTube video talking about another YouTuber you get demonetized!

Hi Keem - Confirming this isn't true. There may be other reasons why these videos get flagged. Our Ad-friendly Guidelines state that incendiary & demeaning content isn't allowed. So if videos appear like it's ridiculing another creator, it might get picked up as not safe for ads.

Youtube, this is the kind of over-correction we were afraid of when the company took notice of Carlos Maza’s demands to ban his critic. Censoring criticism of any entity with a Youtube channel WILL destroy the platform, and require an alternative host.

So it looks like all anyone who doesn't want to be criticized needs to do is just create a youtube channel and they're now immune?

You would think that, but keep in mind that YouTube enforces their rules via rng.

If you're not very lucky maybe. But if you say it's "educational" and try to cater to that... Who knows? Tbf tho they'd probably just add another rule for the sake of screwing over someone else with genuine talent.
