follow up Q from as I don't know pancreatitis-ARDS physiology that well. Would our over-agressive IVF that
pulmonary edema prolong ARDS recovery time and worsen outcomes? From a quick glance at the lit, maintaining a net zero fluid balance seems to hasten recovery. @PulmCrit -
yep, over-aggressive volume administration in pancreatitis may promote ARDS and abdominal compartment syndrome, thereby pushing patients into multi-organ failure. without tons of fluid, some patients will still develop renal failure but this tends to be single-organ failure.
