Asking a hospital why would have rounded this article out. If you scan every suspected covid case, you have to do a terminal clean of the scanner. It takes 30 min to clean it for each one. Multiply this by hundreds & that scanner is then used all day for people with no symptoms.

True but Chinese just used dedicated covid Ct scanners in dedicated fever clinics . Quicker and more reliable than swabs which only pickup 60-70% of cases & slow.The paradigm shift is in deciding to do things differently for a new disease and not worrying about the cost nor past

Findings are not subtle. It seems a quick wet read could dictate whether the extensive cleaning would be needed immediately after an exam as well.
