NIV is the resident buzz-kill (...it's funny because it's true)
In these days of COVID however, concerns with NIV are a real thing with airborne particles.
What are your thoughts and practices in your institutions?

Our algorithm discourages NIV as a preox strategy in patients who are to be intubated to prevent unnecessary aerosol.

Important to distinguish helmet cpap and NIPPV from the masks commonly used stateside, very different rate of spray generation

in @CPSolvers podcast above they stated facemask was easier to use and easier for patients to take off if there were any issues... I believe these were in dedicated wards with everyone in full gear at all times.. but yes in the videos we see lots of the helmet types.
