Can we also recognize that there is selection bias? If you are well enough to physically make it into an outpatient office under your own power and live on your own, the odds of you being a “good historian” are vastly superior to many patients I see on a daily basis

And the shade seems to always come from attendings- who usually see the patient after (at a minimum) nurses have asked their history, at the max they may have also seen a medical student, resident, and fellow before the attending-that helps their history get more focused/concise
