Question: what makes you want to leave a comment on a blog post?
Comments are highly variable, but to me this discussion is the most valuable part of #FOAMed
Are there things that would make you more comfortable joining the discussion?

A comment on a blog feels like talking to one person, reaching out to the author, rather than looking for a discussion. I’d need to feel a personal response was a) appropriate b) desired c) helpful

I definitely feel the same But twitter discussions are so hard to find in retrospect, it seems to make sense to have more discussion archived with the post that provoked them. I wonder if there is a way to change that. Or use a different platform? Reddit? Something else?

there’s so much noise on reddit/twitter there’s no fear of making a fool of yourself. There’s more fear your comment will look inane when it follows carefully crafted blog posts like yours. Reddit would be the ideal forum but it is difficult to get media tribes to migrate.
