If Dementia, then the "PC" term probably means that if they have Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms they aren't manifesting with what looks like verbal/physical "aggression", restlesslness, vocalising, "wandering" etc and so are "no trouble" (though may be terrified)

“pleasantly confused” far outnumbers “hypoactive delirium” where I practice. These aren’t bad nurses and doctors were just trying to bang out stupid notes for the bean counters and lawyers.

With respect I’m not ciritising I havent said anyone is bad - I thought we were discussing ? I think its sensible to examine language we use as it does have an impact of

I don’t know I think start the terminology from the start we would do that with student nurses - prob is I’m biased(icu / Resus) seen to many times language like ‘pleasantly confused’ giving false sense of security in patients who are actually deteriorating are missed
