After 12 years doing exclusively critical care, I can barely remember what are the heart and lung sounds. I lost my stethoscope somewhere close to 2010.

I think listening to them, talking to the pt, touching the patient and updating them does that. The most useful part of my exam= how much oedema, what's the breathing pattern like, what's the sedation score, how's their skin and peripheral skin appearance.

I'm deaf in one ear, so I'm damed if I can hear heart sounds over my tinnitus.
