I have a love/hate relationship with large cities. Things that are often difficult are simple and things that are often simple are difficult!

So I think I’m going to start an event that happens in Reykjavík every summer for OSS where we bring big names from around the world - but the requirement is that they must also bring a new speaker to mentor and coach at the same time. Email confconf@nivenly.com

I often remind people that "the 'awful/stupid/broken' architecture/code/stack you're slating built a stable business of (norm) 10+ years and is paying your nice salary". You (probably) weren't there at design time and have no idea what resources/constraints they had to work with.

read elsewhere but advice! If you ever meetup in business with a real a$$ hold onto their business card and leave it on the windshield of the next car you bump in a parking lot with "sorry" written on the back ...

Yeah I've chosen it not for those reasons, but despite *despite* them. Even in my conf talks, my first slide advises that if your use-cases are basically CRUD, build a CRUD system. Even says this at the start of his various distributed DDD courses.

JetBrains is looking for people who have never used (the awsome) IDE for a usability study. They are also offering a free 1 year subscription or an Amazon gift card. This is the first time I regret that I have been using Rider. 😊
