1/ We can go on and on about whether or not this was a set-up, a Black Cube op, or what have you. The fact that Kellyanne shared the story so prominently, and the Trumpist response to the news, suggests they were in on it. But that's over now.
2/ These idiots think that by removing one guy, the whole investigation stops. And stuff just doesn't work that way. Watch what happens to the Trump/Cohen stuff in New York, and how little changes, and keep that in mind the next time Trump starts talking about firing Mueller.
3/ Trump also thinks that he can pardon people, wave that magic wand, and everything stops. Again, this is the sort of understanding a child would have about the power of the pardon. It's too simplistic. It doesn't work the way Trump thinks.
4/ That #Scheiderman resigned so quickly, from a tactical standpoint, is good. The story will be over after a day. We will replace him, and the investigations will continue. It's not like he was working alone, not sharing his files. That's not how this stuff works.
5/ Also, as good an AG as Schneiderman was, it's not like we're in some state bereft of good attorneys. New York has a DEEP bench. I'm not sure what the plan is here, but it seems like Cuomo has one. @PreetBharara, peut-etre?
Bottom line: they won this one, because they used our weakness (we have to be ethical and moral; they do not) against us. And they are gloating. To which I say: SCOREBOARD. Justice WILL be served. Just not by Schneiderman. [END]
