The income that oil companies are getting today has nothing to do with what the companies have done but are windfall profits and undeserved. A well-designed windfall tax can raise revenue, keep prices down and encourage investment. Time to tax them.

I admire the hell out of Obama. Think he was a great president, a brilliant man, & amazing person. But I’d never fly a flag with his name, or hang his picture in my house, or follow him from rally to rally. That’s the difference between supporting a politician & being in a cult.

Could not have put it better myself. But of course, libertarians like Musk and his ilk think there shouldn't be a national budget - anywhere, because they, in their unchecked arrogance, can know better, spend better, and do better.

The world is such an unreal/unequal place. Elon Musk just bought Twitter at $44Bn.Our national budget was around $ 28.6 Bn. So Twitter sale was enough to finance 100% of our national budget FY 2022/23, and offset around 25% of our national debt. That is capitalism at a glance!

Here is my statement as an incest, impregnated survivor of Pre Roe 1969 at 13: I am 67. I gave birth to my father’s baby. If you think I’m too emotional or rehash my history and trauma due to Scotus flipping Roe, I make 0 apologies for hyper-vigilance on this! Support/ unfollow

35 years ago last night, my mother, brother and I landed at JFK on a long Lufthansa flight. My father had gone ahead of us; our mom didn't know if we had utensils at our new home, so she asked our flight attendant if we could keep the cutlery. She quietly said yes.
Two metal spoons, each labelled "Lufthansa" on the neck.

1. Religious freedom means you can either practice any religion you want or no goddamn religion at all. 2. Religious freedom does not mean you can use your beliefs to dictate what others can and cannot do. Your religion guides you, not all of us. It’s as simple as that.

Today, I filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump for engaging in years of financial fraud to enrich himself, his family, and the Trump Organization.  There aren't two sets of laws for people in this nation: former presidents must be held to the same standards as everyday Americans.

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it a thousand times: The treatment for an ectopic pregnancy, a septic uterus, or a miscarriage that your body won’t release is abortion. If you can’t get those abortions, you die. You. Die.

For word lovers and English nerds - a remarkable thread.

So there's a particular quirk of English grammar that I've always found quite endearing: the exocentric verb-noun compound agent noun. It appears in a definite, remarkably narrow period - not more than 150, 200 years - before dying out, leaving loads of legacy words in its wake.
