@gregkh For a current HW development I have picked 3.10 and rebased on it: it would be nice that it's long term, if not I will redo it later
@Longfield Your hardware development should always be done on Linus's tree, so you can get it merged, not on a longterm stable release.

@gregkh 1) the product managers don't like us to change the kernel (we already had to convince them to use stable to benefit from you work). -
@Longfield it's just a "number" change the kernel and don't tell the project managers, they'll never know the difference...

@gregkh 2) we unfortunately have to rely on A LOT of unmerged vendor code, so we can't always update. -
@Longfield fix the "unmerged vendor code" problem, it's costing you real money, and time. Then you will not have this type of issue at all.
