I know what Ubuntu is and what ZFS is and I still have no idea what the rest of these words mean in combination.

I didn't change licensing of the code I publish, I just changed its behaviour. And I stand by my right to do that.
You might want to run that opinion by a lawyer who understands licenses first before making fun statements like this. Best of luck!

Best of luck to you arguing otherwise... The code is still under the same license, the patch just makes the code way less political. If you don’t see how this impacts innovation in a negative way, that is sad, but not much we can do about it. We can, however, fork it.

Also, it might interest you, that you’re not having this argument with a corporate animal, I run a nonprofit org sharing expenses to run server infrastructure. We’re a community, we don’t make any profit off of these changes, they just make it possible for us to run more OSS.
