This is going to be hilarious when someone writes a NDISwrapper equivalent so that you can use the windows kernel graphics drivers on linux host with all this.

Is it just me or it sucks? If I read it well it means: Linux running inside windows will be able to use Windows directx but nothing opposite? It means that you could have linux gui programs only able to run on Windows?

I think the idea is that in order to expose 3D graphics to Linux, rather than implementing OpenGL, Vulcan, SDL, etc..., they'll "thunk" DirectX and expose the other APIs through the many OpenGL on DirectX wrappers. I don't believe it's meant to be used directly.

it's more like linux on top of windows can access windows DX12. So, only WSL. If you aren't running linux on top of windows, no dice.

I don't get the usecase. If I write something for Windows I might use DirectX and if I use Linux, I would use OpenGL or Vulkan, because it runs on all Linux kernels. They should have spent the time on supporting Vulkan in WSL. Or did I miss something?
