I've talked since earliest days of the pandemic about its effects on most vulnerable in our society, including people who are incarcerated, people who use drugs, the undocumented. I've pushed for reasonable public health approaches, while asking for big structural change. 1/

It’s hard when you get trolled. They come at you hard. If their smack down to you doesn’t work, their troll-coworker comes at you and if you rebuke them effectively, their troll coworkers come at you. How can FB and Twitter not see what is happening here?

I worked at USAID during the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and rememberwhat a completely screwed up job the Reagan administration made of it. Even Rock Hudson couldn’tget through to them, and Jesse Helms’ unabashed bigotry. Friends getting ill, my cousin dying. Never again.
