Great show w/ The Charlatans/UK. Saw 2 cool friends I’ve known for 30 years. Great lesson - keep your friends, if you can. Be accountable to them, make them accountable to you. Lives will change, people get busy, but GO OUT & make face time doing fun stuff!

If you’re talking late-80s movie soundtrack theme songs starring current TV stars with a band with long hair and a drummer as a singer…this is probably where to start.

These are two big reversals from the Liberals in 24 hours - mental illness/MAID access, & this. I don’t think it forecasts an election, but the pressure was clearly felt to move on these.

A massive climbdown this morning from the Liberals as they completely revoke their controversial amendments to Bill C-21, which targeted assault-style firearms. The latest from @marshamcleod_ and me theglobeandmail.com/politics/artic

Ty for covering ’s story . It’s pretty horrid how we separate spouses in #LTC and it doesn’t have to be this way but operators have learned they make more💰 giving that free open bed in a given home to someone paying the extra private room fee.

It looks like the balloon spent a lot of time in Canadian airspace on its way to Montana. However, I doubt that even this incident will move the needle in Canadian defence policy.

#DOD says high altitude balloon over Montana yesterday was a spy balloon from #China. I did a quick run of the #NOAA HYSPLIT model to trace backwards the path of an object. Using 14K meters over Montana yesterday I get the following - Yup Central China! cnbc.com/2023/02/02/sus

I don't know about you - I'm putting all my trust in the people totally wrong in the last year re: COVID, monkeypox, masks, Ukraine, bivalent boosters, gas prices, & simply everything in politics to give a proper take about the Chinese spy balloon. This is their moment.

A LOT of dairy farmers (thank u for the convos, btw) telling me re: milk dumping...while not staged (yes, the milk is being wasted), it's a bit...performative. There's an anti-quota argument, yes - will explain it all in AM on "Toronto Today". 640toronto.com

Everyone has seen this video, it feels like. I know farmers follow my account. We know farmers listen to our show. Please DM me & explain this. Why does this have to happen, who is to blame, what will fix it? Thanks a ton.

Government making a Dairy Farm in Southern Ontario dump 30,000 litres of milk because they have gone over quota. Can’t donate it to a food bank, or to a hospital, or to a homeless shelter. Right down the drain so we can pay $7 per litre for milk.

The unsurprising thing about the “masks = seatbelts” parishioners is their ability to crunch numbers & real data is absolutely worse than their analogies.
Quote Tweet
Grant me the patience to explain once more *for the thousandth time* that masks are not like seatbelts.

It's really hard to believe Tom Brady was a yard away from going 3-3 in Super Bowls at this moment 8 years ago. He won this won, & 3 more in the next 6 seasons. And what for the Seahawks if they go back-to-back?

Simple question I want to address on "Toronto Today" tomorrow. It's Black History Month starting in...an hour. I'm not Black. What does it feel like to be Black? In Toronto, AND in Canada? DMs are open. I want the truth. What's real, what's good, what's difficult?

Yes! At the risk of having my passport confiscated, April Wine’s 10 best singles are better than Rush’s. Rush wasn’t “trying” to write hooks & great choruses, admittedly. April Wine, Loverboy, & Tom Cochrane are brilliantly underrated as iconic 🇨🇦 music legends.

That said, New Sensation grabbed me instantly. And I still think “Suicide Blonde” is one of the best album-openers I’ve ever heard.

I have been wrong before, but had the opposite reaction to “Need You Tonight.” The riff was bound to be iconic.

Loved INXS from 1982 on. Heard “Need You Tonight” on the radio the first time & thought, “bad song - they’ve been so good so long, & released a dud” - I could have been a record company exec!

I'm going to be on @am640 tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. discussing the TTC, and the transit Toronto deserves. I've used the TTC two to five days most weeks for 33 years, save the four I was in Ottawa. Which is to say, I am an expert 🤓 and I gotta LOT of thoughts.

Our “Toronto Today” chat about the letter from long-ago Ontario Liberal decision makers re: their vacant leadership. Plus, I asked ⁦⁩ his perspective as he explores a potential run for leadership in his home province:

If you run the #s - every 🇨🇦 citizen (not just adults) has paid the equivalent of about $12/month for 12 months, to fund the Ukraine resistance to the Russian invasion. So far. I'm not saying we stop. At some point, we will. But I've not seen the cost framed this way before.

Was thinking re: NFL QBs this offseason - why I'm sure Brady will be a 49er, & Rodgers would be crazy to move to the AFC. Not sure when a conference has had this youthful depth: Mahomes 27, Burrow 26, Lawrence 23, Allen 26, Herbert 24, Lamar 26. ALL these QBs = huge runway.

I don't get people dunking on her. Her life changed - 3 kids. Making sure there aren't crumbs under your table or you haven't donated from your closet recently aren't an everyday priority. The time you have & living in the moment SHOULD be the priority.

That is legitimate heavy man-crying from Ossai - feel for him. Cannot believe the decision but that’s a long, long offseason when that’s the last play you make.
