Just worked out a V3 supercharger stop into my trip and it seems to be a gimmick at least on the S/X cars? Sure, I saw the 202 kW rate for whopping 11 seconds, but I paid for it with greatly reduced time at above 100kW instead so it ended about the same to a bit slower than v2pic.twitter.com/P7MKFTRNdI
Here's a comparison. V2 charge from 9% SoC to 74% SoC(when it really starts to taper due to battery too full) 3:01:43 to 3:12:33 (SoC 34%) -> 11 minutes at above 100kW, then at 3:37:15 we reach 74% and start tapering hard. Total time 36 minutes, ~63kWh addedpic.twitter.com/sB0SayeLsR

so as you can see it seems to be a total wash.
I know model3 owners were saying theirs chargers faster and there's even some strange time-less graph floating around, but anybody happens to have a few sessions recorded with teslatap/api scraper to compare?

Also would be interesting to have the same comparisons with the current -G and -H batteries from LR+ cars (mine is -F pack)

I’ve only ever seen true V3 speed in a model 3. I don’t think it will ever be any faster in S or X until they use the same batteries or better then what’s in 3 and Y.
I get the same impression by seeing other’s charge curves.
Any preconditioning? idk how to explain this but I have a 2018 100D and I can tell a noticeable difference in charging time bt v2 and v3. My parents have the newer LR+ and on a trip with them I swear their charge time on v2 was noticeably longer than mine. No data though.
preconditioning is supposed to be automatic when destination is detected as the destination. Also data is really king, easy to misremember things or have different perception of time based on a variety of factors.
