I spend 15-30 mins every week sending thank you emails. Some to folks on my team, others to members of the cross-functional teams. Don't forget to include their managers. Just like you escalate when there is an issue, send a thank you when there is impact.

The more thoughtful you are about the format of your ideas, the more adoption there will be. Make your "idea assets" easy for others to access, consume, & share. s/o to 's talk for inspiring this article 🙂

One thing I like to do before a design review is to do a ᵐⁱⁿⁱ design review w/ a few ppl who'll be there. It encourages you to iterate but also creates allies in the room who can help you articulate & set context. Other tips for design reviews:

Be more proactive in your design specs by using annotations to convey design rationale, error cases, and more. Annotations not only help developers, but also push you as a designer to formulate your intentions into words. Here are some ideas & tips:

Having in-person meetings w/ teams that you work remotely w/ is game changing. I’ve been in Israel this week to meet w/ my engineers & it’s been super productive—more importantly, it’s a chance to get to know them personally which creates the trust needed for great collaboration
