You’re a legend Gray my older brother used to put on ufc when I was a kid and you always stuck out to me, glad to see you still out here fighting for the fighters 👊🏾

LET ME CLARIFY….. FIGHTER says, “want more money”, DANA says “scared to fight”, fighter says, “want a better contract”, DANA says “scared to fight”, fighter wants to test free agency, DANA says, “Scared to fight”. I support more fighter rights. Always have. Hopefully this helps

A man who left Cameroun on foot, passed through the valley of shadows of death( Sahara desert),crossed the Mediterranean (poseidons belt) on a small boat to Europe.Scared to fight you say 🤣😂 y'all don't know the kinds of things that scares such a man.Ill let you know, NOTHING!

Dude. Francis is on the highest level right now! He’s sticking up for his rights and all the rights of a fighter. THIS goes to show how little leverage the best fighter has with the UFC, because we have no laws or rules protecting us. UFC has all the leverage. 🤦

You talk so much sheet with your mouth. You love to fight yet no one knows you or did you think that Francis is in the same level with you?

Hence. He doesn’t have the leverage to get what he wants. Nobody has the leverage to get what they want from the UFC, because their are no rules or regulations that protect fighters to get what we want. Francis can show people even the HW champ has no leverage. #AliAct

I disagree with the leverage part cause Francis has leverage, It's just what is he asking for from the UFC. And from the interview, Francis did with @arielhelwani, it seems he was asking more than the UFC is willing to give him. The fans always missed out thank corp greed.

You didn't even understand his statement bud.. He is actually mocking Dana... And is actually on francis' side.. Sarcasm is pretty Difficult for some

Yea man. I think Francis is doing a great, I’m behind him 100%. I don’t think any fighter has leverage on the UFC. Only the government, to expand the Ali Act to cover MMA. The greatest fighter ever just sat for 3 years tied up in a contract. It’s insane! He had to take a deal

Francis ain't just fighting for himself he is fighting for the future landscape of MMA casual fans wouldn't understand. @GrayMaynard you ain't on the same level of cache as @francis_ngannou so you never held any leverage on UFC.

Yea. He had some support in the mma community. But how big was that back then. It was preaching to the choir. Now, it’s really reaching people who don’t even watch mma

I listened to a lot of Sherdog Radio Network back then and @TJDeSantis and @TheSherdoggy, were in full support of Randy. To your point, they were already banned by Dana for not kowtowing, but Randy did have some support.
10
Randy had no support from any of the media. There’s been a lot of guys that put up a fight, but the media was silent. All those guys still needed to pay bills and needed money. Hopefully it’s different this time around. I see WAY more coverage of Francis and what he’s doing.

UFC supposedly told Francis Ngannou's manager "go ask Randy Couture what it's like to try and leave the UFC." So Francis Ngannou went and asked Randy Couture 😂 (via @arielhelwani's MMA Hour)

That’s all I’m trying to do is get information out there. Happens more with bigger names. I just want to see a more even playing field. Its so lopsided. Thanks for hearing me out

Thanks Grey, lot more understanding. You could have told me to shut up, but you didn't, and now I will know if I don't see a fighter for a while and they are not injured, I will have a fair idea what could be happening.

That’s the point of the Ali Act. Having more power for fighters. But not being locked in contract with a company that doesn’t agree with u. Dana says all the time, “they don’t have to take the fight”, but what isn’t said, “they just can’t fight and make money anywhere else”

Is it hard to believe there’s repercussions for speaking up for ur rights. I watched almost the whole AKA team get fired because they didn’t sign over their ancillary rights to the UFC for in perpetuity. Also, it’s hard realize what’s going on while ur solely focused on training

I just find it hard to believe that it's always realised after fighters have finished and left the ufc, and nothing is said during their time there or before. Always seems like sour grapes. However, I do hope the Ali act can be realised for all fighters in all of mma.

A lot more complicated than that. First step is getting the Ali act to protect fighter rights

You want more pay. “Scared to fight”. Want a better contract. “Scared to fight”. Want to test free agency. “Scared to fight”……. Shut up and take whatever they give you. “Loves to fight. Scary match up for anyone”

Ufc simply lost the bid for Francis , instead of admitting that , they go with the narrative the the Scariest mother fucker alive is Afraid to fight in the UFC hahhahahahhahahahhahahahhaa These jokes write themselves #PHSUnreal

Gray is a ninja. Carlos Newton said he realized the UFC could pull the rug at anytime. realized the UFC dictated ascension… MMA isn’t a sport. It is a reality show improperly sanctioned as sport which results in fighter exploitation. mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2017/11/congre

Of course. And fighting for those titles, I then realized UFC controls almost the entire narrative (rankings, pay, PR, etc). You control the fight that night. Unless your injured, but need to take the fight cause there’s no contractual guarantee you will get another shot twitter.com/Chrisb61171/st…

So, per Dana White, Francis Ngannou is a free agent. Stripped of the title. Waived exclusive negotiating window, no matching rights clause. Unrestricted free agency for the best MMA heavyweight in the world.

We've been told to not write anything incendiary on social media about the Dana White situation, and I understand why and have abided by that. I just ask y'all to understand that some of us at ESPN do not have as soft a take as this on domestic violence.

We are pretty much there where one dual everybody tunes into (Iowa/Penn State) and everyone tunes into one weekend in March. Watching Big Tens last year, it became evident we have a very concerning problem happening with wrestling.

I think that is more for the fans to watch the “do or die” mentality tournament.

In anything, there has to be benchmarks throughout the year to incentivize competition towards the ultimate goal. If we look at wrestling like a business, we have no benchmarks at all and put all our eggs into 3 days out of 365. Prohibits any growth.

Absolutely devastated by the news of Stephan Bonnar passing. One of the most genuine and solid human beings I’ve ever met. My heart goes out to his family. Rest easy my friend. I’m so thankful our paths crossed and for the time we did have together.
