Turns out that constant in the test code was 256*DBL_EPSILON, not 2*DBL_EPSILON. Whoops.

Minus side: there went my evening. Plus side: I have now very accurate Ai(x)/Bi(x) Airy functions for double-precision IEEE754 floats.
