if you take the series definition of a Jacobian theta function, and translate the q^((n-R)^2 * exp(2 *(n +R) * I z) in opposite directions real R. even moreso: change it to q^((n-sqrt(2)*R)^2 * exp(2 *(n +sqrt(3)*R) * I z)
