You can add location information to your Tweets, such as your city or precise location, from the web and via third-party applications. You always have the option to delete your Tweet location history. Learn more
(caveat: this still doesn't get us GIS, which is kind of the next step, and the implementation is sort of brittle as is: seems to break if there's a single out of domain, which happens with modular forms on the unit disc)
