I don't have (and should, and will add it to my todolist now) generic code for dealing with plots like this, or contextualizing them/coloring them with respect to SL(2,Z), and I need to think about this in the meantime: http://www.glslsandbox.com/e#42524.0

Thanks! I can't work with automorphic forms myself, but the plots of roots of low-degree polynomials you linked should already explain some of the features of the plot. You can see the degree 6 polynomials at https://github.com/pbelmans/ehrhart-polynomials-toric-fanos/blob/master/dimension-6.gp …, if you want to try something yourself.
I should have a/some rudimentary 8-bit density plots soon. But I am attempting sleep. The automorphic forms part is an eta 10 years before we have a procedure to follow for this kind of situation.
