I'm generally of the opinion that Sandy Koufax is a little overrated and was a product of Dodger Stadium. That said, his splits against the Mets and Astros are mesmerizing: 31-4, 1.67 ERA, 11 SHO, 9.6 SO/9.

I should probably qualify the "overrated" part of this. Koufax lifetime at Dodger Stadium: 57-15, 1.37 ERA. Everywhere else: 108-72, 3.38 ERA.

How Koufax did away from Dodger Stadium 1962-66: 54-19, 2.57 ERA. I think this is roughly how his prime might've looked in a neutral park.

Do you know what his road adjusted ERA was for that stretch?

Don't know how to calculate that, but I'm guessing a 2.57 ERA is maybe a 115 ERA+ for those years.

Well yeah, the Dodger Stadium mound was something in the neighborhood of 25 inches. Give or take an inch...

Although pitchers generally pitch better at home. I expect he would have beaten those stats if he was pitching for a similarly good team in another park. And they are pretty good.

          That's why I said roughly.

Did visiting pitchers perform appreciably better at Dodger Stadium during that stretch?

And those splits are why his WAR doesn’t account for what we remember of him as a filthy, dominant pitcher.
