Every word of this nails the abomination that was the #ABCMurders to perfection. By god it was cathartic to read. Phelps is a dismal choice to adapt Christie and the BBC should be ashamed of treating Christie’s millions of fans with such unalloyed contempt.https://twitter.com/niall_gooch/status/1079001938115604481 …

so grim to imagine that Christmas TV should be a stern finger wagging lecture to the unwashed masses from atop the Hampstead anti-Brexit mountain top. The misery of that BBC culture turns entertainment & Christmas into FBPE scolding

At least we had Frankie Boyle on BBC2 as an alternative narrative. Oh wait. 🙄

I disagree with you and with @niall_gooch, who seems to be treating @PhelpsieSarah's vivid reimagining of Poirot's world as an extended metaphor for #Brexit and the divisions arising therefrom. Most art is not so easily reduced to political dogma. And if it is, it shouldn't be.

Tara, Tara, Tara. How can I get Brexit into a drama set in 1933? The E.U. didn’t exist then, did it? The parallels are through nationalism, xenophobia, recession. Where we are now, we’ve been before and it didn’t lead us to anything good. Take care now.

I was disappointed greatly by it having really like ATTWN despite the changes. It's just relentlessly grim murder porn with none of the wit or black humour of Christie.
