every job I've had as an adult has been from my ability to do math. people were mean to you because you brought up reasonable questions that they couldn't answer. when they were kids, they asked similar questions. their teachers shit on them then, so they did the same to you.

I'm gonna disagree with people a little. I think these questions are dumb. But! ...sometimes it takes dumb questions to make us reconsider our presuppositions and fortify our foundational knowledge, so dumb questions are sometimes valuable. And I hope you get the answers.
