Maybe I’m just too young, but I never really understood RMS and his scorched earth method of supporting free software anyways. Why is he so respected? Is he really that smart? Or did he just happen to gain a cult?
Because he tilted at windmills and some of them actually fell. It seems to be kinda hard to win at that windmill game without being a very "pointy" personality. The stubbornness produces both the success and the antipathy.
