GraalVM

Any priority on compiling SIMD etc instructions from Java/Scala (@scala_lang) code? https://twitter.com/schaumberg_a/status/926971273858703363 … Would GraalVM have any impact on Aparapi (@aparapi @AparapiLib) or similar projects that emit code to the #GPU? Promising project!

I completed the tutorial. Impressive indeed. I may be wrong here, but I expect Graal might be as important, and have impact similar to that of git and Docker.

Also: client-side apps: command-line, browser, and desktop. An Electron-style framework supporting *all* languages: JVM, JS, LLVM, etc.

Also: systems applications (where C++ is often used and Go has some momentum): containers, container orchestration, Puppet/Chef-like tools, network proxies (linkerd and envoy), etc.

Embedded in the database is super-powerful. This is the portable code dream. Writing stored procedures or even SQL in the high-level language of your choice, without context switching penalties.

Also: embedded in many more applications as a kind of scripting container. For scripting as well as powerful configuration DSL's.
