Wayback Machine & Google Cache seem to show all older @kapeli apps xferred to alleged fraudulent account. Not just association through CC 😟https://twitter.com/benthompson/status/785653480186785792 …

      Ben Thompson @benthompson
I find the developer story 100% believable. Unfortunately, from what I've seen in private conversations, those without intl experience don't

@tuxtina @kapeli @rosyna He obviously helped out his relative in a big way. That still doesn't make it is his account though.

@gpdawson @tuxtina It's how Apple can prevent fraud when a malicious dev opens multiple accounts. Bank info, bundle ID prefix.

@rosyna @tuxtina Yes agreed - its a flag, but it may be a false positive.

@gpdawson @tuxtina I think that's the point. It wasn't a false positive. The account, which had apps from the developer, *was* doing fraud.

@gpdawson @tuxtina So it's up to Apple whether they want to ban all matching accounts. Otherwise they may miss some fraudulent accounts.

@rosyna @tuxtina Right, but anyone can transfer ownership of apps to another account. There's no certainty he had any control after xfer.

@rosyna @tuxtina So if I bought an app from another developer, and later they committed fraud. is my account going to be closed too?

@gpdawson @tuxtina Not if the bank account info doesn't match. Although one would hope they also changed the bundle ID prefix.

@gpdawson @tuxtina (Because when you sell an app, you don't tend to also give them your iTunes bank account info?)

@gpdawson @kapeli @rosyna And yes I agree that does not make it his account. But Apple gave him a way out. No idea why it didn't work out.

@gpdawson @kapeli @rosyna That account was selling all his old apps. His story never mentions that insignificant bit.
