  5. COVID-19 knows no county or regional boundaries. When listing counties by infection rate, two of the five highest are downstate. In order, that’s Cook, Jasper, Lake, Will & Randolph. Looking at deaths per capita, the two highest counties are Jasper & Monroe—both in Southern IL.

  16. We also partnered with local health clinics across the state like the Federally Qualified Health Centers which already are trusted in their communities. They’ve helped us expand the number of locations taking specimens for testing.

  19. Expanding testing is vital to our efforts to reduce social restrictions, get our economy going and keep our residents safe. During last week's testing update, we reported 5,660 tests completed. Over the past two days, we surpassed 9,000. Today we reported 16,124.
