Kermit lost his shoe-shine job in the COVID pandemic, so he decided to turn his metal-scrapping side gig into a full-time job. He took his life savings of ~$30k to buy a tow truck in Ohio. The deal fell through, so he flew back. At airport, @TSA found his $$ & @DEAHQ seized it.

Kermit hadn't done anything wong--it's legal to travel with any amount of cash--& was never charged with any crime. He was a victim of TSA's & DEA's unconstitutional "see cash, seize cash" policies, which @IJ is challenging at airports nationwide. #Forfeiture #PolicingForProfit

But despite not charging him (& nothing connecting his money to illegal activity), DEA is trying to permanently keep his life savings based on extremely flimsy "evidence." @IJ is defending Kermit's life savings from federal govt's predatory #PolicingForProfit #forfeiture abuses.
